Our Mission & Vision

Mission

We seek to foster community participation and access to opportunities by fulfilling a great need in the community to provide public space for meetings, programs, activities, and business development services, as well as to provide an improved facility for our local public library. This effort is the result of a confluence of ideas for enrichment and energy for change to support a vibrant and engaged village life for the Danville community.

Vision - Our preliminary objectives are:

Expansion Proposal - Relocate the current Danville Library from the Danville Village Municipal Building to the former Danville Feed Hardware Building on 101 E. Ross St.  Community Benefits to be derived by this move will include:

  • Continue and expand all community-based library programs and activities in cooperation with the Public Library of Mount Vernon & Knox County organization.

  • Expanded adult and children programing.

  • Coordinate with Danville Schools to improve involvement with students, especially after school programs.

  • Expand Computer Technology by having more computers available.

  • Foster a relationship with our Amish Community through serving their needs in books, library materials, and technology.

  • Support curriculum efforts for local independent youth and adult education.

  • Establish a “Danville Heritage Corner” to manifest the history of our great community.

  • And the library will no longer be co-located with the Danville Police Department.
